Ending stocks on the currency account of the State Treasury Service as of early August 1 in hryvnia equivalent totaled UAH 20.9 billion, and there is enough liquidity on the account, acting Finance Minister of Ukraine Oksana Markarova has said.

"As of the beginning of the operation day on August 1, the balances on the hryvnia treasury account actually amounted to UAH 2 billion, but in addition to the currency accounts of the State Treasury Service as of August 1 there was the equivalent of UAH 20.9 billion, which are not displayed in the standard report of the State Treasury Service at the beginning of the month. And taking into account the daily target for August, the Finance Ministry had no reason to sell currency, "she wrote on her Facebook page.

Markarova said that the failure to meet the UAH 56 billion borrowings target for the first quarter of this year is the reason for the low amount of the hryvnia on the treasury account.

"However, overall liquidity is sufficient, the situation is under control, all payments are settled on time," she added.

Ending stocks on the single treasury account by early August 2018 decreased to the level of January 2014 and amounted to UAH 1.99 billion, having decreased by UAH 7.4 billion in a month.
