License commission of State Aviation Service approves new UIA's flights to Vietnam, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Zanzibar

The commission of the State Aviation Service for considering assignments to flights has recommended the head of the authority to allow private joint-stock company Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) to service regular flights from Kyiv to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Krabi and Phuket (Thailand) twice a week.

The State Aviation Service reported on Thursday that the commission also approved systemic charter flights in the winter navigation period to La Romana (Dominican Republic) and Zanzibar (Tanzania), as well as charter flights to Preveza (Greece) in the period until October 27, 2018.

"The decision of the licensing commission gives UIA the opportunity of opening the sale of tickets for flights within the framework of flight programs scheduled for the winter navigation season 2018/2019, in particular, from October 25, UIA will fly from Kyiv to La Romana, and in middle of November to Ho Chi Minh City," the UIA's press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

The UIA added that it was considered the possibility of charter flights from Kyiv to Preveza, but the airline was unable to reach a final agreement with the partners.

"In addition, negotiations are currently under way with the tour operator on the implementation of charter flights to Zanzibar," the press service said.

In addition, the commission of the State Aviation Service recommended annulling the UIA's right to operate a number of regular flights, in particular, from Vinnytsia to Gdansk; from Zaporizhia to Batumi; from Ivano-Frankivsk to Venice, Gdansk, Poznan, Milan, Naples; from Lviv to Warsaw, Vilnius, Kaunas, Larnaca, Malaga, Minsk, Naples, from Odesa to Kaunas, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Moscow and St. Petersburg; from Kharkiv to Warsaw, Kutaisi and Larnaca.

Among the UIA's assignments subject to cancellation are also routes from Kyiv to Kaliningrad, Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kaunas, Palanga, Stockholm (Skavsta), Kutaisi, Poltava and Uzhgorod.
