Markarova says macroeconomic stability, reduction of fiscal risks are among priorities

Acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova has stated return to medium-term budget planning, the achievement of macroeconomic stability and reduction of fiscal risks, as well as support for economic development are among the key priorities for her at the new post.

"I plan to return to full implementation of medium-term budgeting, i.e. budgeting for three years ... I hope we will find support in the parliament and will be able to implement it ... The second priority is macroeconomic stability and reduction of fiscal risks," she said in an interview with the 112.ua Channel.

Markarova said the matter concerns a gradual reduction of the budget deficit and deepening cooperation with our international partners - the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The third key priority is to support economic development, she said.

"This is the reform of tax and customs administration, which should be accelerated, the creation of a new body of financial investigations and, in general, reduction of pressure on business," the official stated.
