Business community's position regarding bill on National Financial Security Bureau ignored

The draft law on the National Financial Security Bureau (No. 8157) does not take into account the basic conceptual remarks of the European Business Association (EBA), and only some "cosmetic" corrections have been adopted, the business association has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The business community cannot stay on the sidelines and calmly watch how they ignore our point of view, while publicly announcing broad support for business. The largest business associations of Ukraine, including the EBA, with the support of the Business Ombudsman Council, sent a letter to Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, in which reasoned all our comments on this bill," the EBA said.

At the same time, the association said its experts had joined the study and discussion of the document from the very beginning of its promulgation. In particular, specialists of a number of companies, which are members of the association, including law firms, pharmaceutical and investment companies, conducted thorough work on studying the bill, which resulted in almost ten pages of comments.

"In addition, we held a meeting with Nina Yuzhanina [the head of the parliamentary committee on taxation and customs policy], at which voiced the main comments and discussed the problematic issues of the draft law. Moreover, we met with the specialists, who worked on the text of the document, and discussed certain questionable norms," the EBA noted.
