National budget for 2018 to provide 20% rise in funding of Interior Ministry, 18% rise for State Border Guard Service

Ukraine's national budget for 2018 has announced the provision of UAH 65.99 billion to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine, which is 20% more than in 2017, and the funding of the State Border Guard Service was increased by 17.9%, to UAH 9.3 billion.

This is outlined in the law on the national budget of Ukraine for 2018 posted on the Verkhovna Rada's website.

In 2017, the Interior Ministry received UAH 54.84 billion.

In 2018, expenses for engineering and technical improvement of the state border were left in the last year's volumes - UAH 500 million.

In addition, UAH 200 million is provided for the construction or purchase of housing for servicemen of the State Border Guard Service.

The National Guard is provided with UAH 10.9 billion, of which UAH 200 million for housing. The State Migration Service would receive UAH 2.87 billion.

The State Emergencies Service would obtain UAH 11.23 billion, of which UAH 361.8 million for hydro-meteorological works, UAH 90 million for housing, UAH 600.8 million for purchase of firefighting and other special equipment of domestic production, UAH 400 million for the acquisition, modernization and repair of helicopter equipment.

The National Police would receive UAH 24.5 billion.
