DTEK TPPs see 19.5% rise in electricity transmission in Oct

DTEK thermal power plants (TPP) in October 2017 increased electricity output by 19.5% compared to October 2016, to 3.2 billion kWh, the company's press service has reported.

"The largest growth in production last month was seen at DTEK TPPs which burn gas coal. They generated 2.5 billion kWh of electricity, which is 25% more year-over-year. They faced an additional burden due to saving of anthracite coal," the press service said.

Anthracite consuming TPPs generated 726 million kWh of electricity, which is twice more than in September and 18% less than a year ago.

"Even in these conditions of an increase in generation we managed to expand TPPs' warehouses with coal. Since November coal stocks have grown by 176,000 tonnes, which allows having a reserve for stable operation in the autumn and winter period for our plants," the press service said, citing DTEK Energo Director for Power Generation Serhiy Kurylenko.

As reported, DTEK is an energy holding that manages three operating companies with assets in coal mining, thermal power generation and distribution, as well as alternative energy and gas production. It is part of System Capital Management (SCM) financial and industrial group, whose shareholder is Rinat Akhmetov.
