Estimate of Ukraine's GDP growth in Q2, 2017 downgraded from 2.4% to 2.3%

The growth of Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) in April-June 2017 compared to the same period in 2016 was 2.3% against 2.5% in the first quarter of 2017, the State Statistics Service has reported the updated data.

As reported, in mid-August the service promptly estimated the figure for the second quarter at 2.4%.

At the same time, the revised estimate of growth relative to the previous quarter, taking into account the seasonal factor, remained the same at 0.6%.

The service said nominal GDP amounted to UAH 657 billion and the figure per capita stood at UAH 15,449, the deflator change at 20%, whereas in the first quarter of this year nominal GDP was estimated at UAH 583.88 billion, that per capita at UAH 13,721, and the deflator change at 25.1%.

As reported, in June this year the State Statistics Service improved the estimate of GDP growth in the first quarter released in the middle of May from 2.4% to 2.5%. The agency confirmed the preliminary estimate of GDP decline in relation to the previous quarter (the fourth quarter of 2016), taking into account the seasonal factor, at 0.3%.
