Lviv waiting for new land parcel for landfill, ready to develop it using own funds – Lviv mayor
Lviv is waiting for a new land parcel for a landfill from the state. The city is ready to develop it using own money, the press service of Lviv City Council has reported, referring to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
"We expect that in the near term public agencies would show us a land parcel with documents and all permits where the landfill for some districts of the region and Lviv city could be launched… We are ready to develop the landfill using the city money," he said.
Sadovy said that he often speaks to the head of Lviv Regional Administration and he knows well the issue.
"I know that they preliminarily ordered institutions to find a land parcel suiting for this purpose. One should take into account the opinion of the public, as communities should understand the situation. If public agencies and local authorities have the joint position, we will see the positive result," he said.
He said that public agencies issue documents for the new landfill. The city cannot find a land parcel independently.
As reported, Lviv authorities rejected a proposal to add to the balance sheet a land parcel in Yavoriv district on the territory of former mining and chemical company Sirka.
