The introduction of the formula-based pricing of steam coal including the cost of coal at the Rotterdam port plus the delivery cost has failed to solve the problem of diversification of coal supplies, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk has said.

"The Rotterdam plus formula did not lift the problem of diversification of steam coal supplies. This should be admitted," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Earlier the district administrative court of Kyiv did not satisfy a claim of former member of the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation Andriy Herus asking to declare invalid regulator's resolution No. 298 dated March 3, 2016 introducing the Rotterdam plus formula for steam coal pricing and annul it.
