Ukraine, Slovenia define common issues of security, prospects for cooperation

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and President of Slovenia Borut Pahor after the talks have adopted a joint declaration on cooperation between the countries, in which, in particular, defined common security issues, according to the official website of the Ukrainian president.

"The document defines prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and economic, scientific and technical and other fields. The parties decided on cooperation within international organizations, as well as defined the prospects of cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining. The document notes the importance of research of the events, which are common in the history of Ukraine and Slovenia in the context of the 100th anniversary of the World War I," a statement reads.

The declaration defines the priority areas of bilateral cooperation, which include, in particular, cooperation in the field of security to overcome and prevent new challenges and threats, combination of effort required for the termination of Russia's aggression in Donbas and the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty in Crimea, the development of inter-parliamentary, sectoral and regional cooperation, the further deepening of ties between Ukraine and Slovenia in cultural and humanitarian areas.

As reported, Poroshenko is on an official visit in Slovenia.
