Ukraine's Health Ministry is working on preventing the problems appeared in 2016 during medicine procurement via international organizations, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

"I want to say that today we ensured the supply of 90% of medicines we bought, including vaccines. You know what the catastrophic situation with supplies of medicines and vaccines was. Today the situation is changing and our task not to have problems in 2017 that we saw in 2016. The Health Ministry's team is seriously working on the issue," he said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

"I want to pay your attention to what we have done in medicine turnover in Ukraine. First, we have opened the market for high-quality imported medicines. Earlier this market was closed or it was very small. It was almost impossible to enter it. If someone entered it they spent much time and there were large corruption challenges. It is important that with opening the market for high-quality drugs our task is to ensure fair pricing," Groysman said.
