Ukraine posts $632.5 mln surplus of foreign trade in goods in 2015 - statistics

The surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods amounted to $632.5 million in 2015, whereas in 2014 the deficit was $527 million, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to its data, last year exports of goods decreased in comparison with 2014 by 29.3%, to $38.135 billion, imports by 31.1%, to $37.502 billion.
The service said that 2015 Ukraine conducted foreign trade operations with partners from 217 countries.
Exports of goods to the EU amounted to $13.018 billion, or 34.1% of total exports, and decreased in comparison with 2014 by 23.4%.
Goods were exported to the Russian Federation (12.7%), Turkey (7.3%), China (6.3%), Egypt (5.5%), Italy (5.2%), Poland (5.2%), India (3.8%), and Germany (3.5%).
Exports to Russia fell by 50.7%, to $4.83 billion, while imports by 41.1%, to $7.485 billion, the deficit of trade in goods amounted to $2.655 billion.
Imports of goods from EU countries amounted to $15.344 billion, or 40.9% of the total volume, and decreased in comparison with 2014 by 27.2%.
Imports of goods from Russia accounted for 20%, Germany for 10.4%, China for 10.1%, Belarus for 6.5%, Poland for 6.2%, Hungary for 4.1%, and the United States for 3.9%.
