Ukrainian oligarchs Pinchuk and Kolomoisky settle out of court in $2 bln business feud

Ukrainian businessmen Victor Pinchuk and Ihor Kolomoisky have reached a $2 billion dispute out of the court, The Telegraph edition said.

The central issue of the current case was Pinchuk's claim that he brokered a deal with his former business partner ex-governor of Dnipropetrovsk region Kolomoisky to buy Kryvy Rih Iron Ore Combine, a former Soviet nationalized industry, and has been seeking up to $2 billion in damages plus his original GBP90 million investment.

The court heard in a preliminary hearing last month extraordinary allegations that one of Pinchuk's opponents in the case, Ihor Kolomoisky, was involved a series of murders and beatings in relation to another previous deal.

According to the British edition, a court trial of two conflict sides "promised to be one of the most expensive court cases in English legal history over a disputed business deal, amid allegations of murder, bribery and political intrigue."

The case has been settled just three days before a marathon eight and a half week trial was due to begin at the High Court in London.

No details of the agreement reached between the sides are specified.

In early October ZN.UA publication reported that Pinchuk and Kolomoisky signed the amicable agreement confirmed by a judge of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
