Boryspil airport posts UAH 467 mln of net profit in Jan-Sept

Boryspil International Airport state enterprise (Kyiv), the largest airport in Ukraine, saw UAH 467.3 million of net profit in January-September 2015, while a year ago the airport saw net loss of UAH 44.5 million, the airport's press service has reported.

"The optimization of expenses with the synchronous increase in the quality of services and growth of revenue allowed improving the airport's profit by some UAH 0.5 billion," acting Director General Yevhen Dykhne said.

In addition, the airport said that it increased passenger transportation by 5% over the period, to 5.6 million people. The transit passenger flow attracted by Ukraine International Airlines showed the largest growth.

"Thanks to the radical change of the financial state of the company the airport has returned UAH 1.2 billion of credits to state-owned banks and the Finance Ministry in January-September 2015, and profit tax of UAH 165.5 million to the state," reads the report.

Boryspil International Airport is the largest airport in Ukraine with a total occupied area of about 1,000 hectares. The company has two runways: one with a length of 4,000 meters and a width of 60 meters, the other – 3,500 meters long and 63 meters wide. The airport has four passenger terminals and a post-cargo complex.
