Ukraine hopes intl financial organizations will provide funds to pump gas to underground facilities until Sept – energy minister

Ukraine hopes that international financial organizations will provide funds to buy natural gas and pump it to the underground storage facilities of the country by September, Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said.
"It is not so efficient to receive the money in October, as pumping capacities are restricted. It is very important for us to receive the money no later than August," he said on the Fifth TV Channel late on Sunday.
The minister said that the final agreements on the issue have not yet been reached.
Demchyshyn said that the existing pace of gas pumping to underground storage facilities in the volume of around 30 million cubic meters a day will ensure that Ukraine starts the heating season with stocks of no more than 15 billion cubic meters.
"Last year we entered the heating season with 16.5 billion cubic meters in stock and end winter with stocks of 7 billion cubic meters. If temperature is the same as last year, in general, 15 billion cubic meters is right enough, but we understand that it is wrong to guess and we should prepare for the heating season adequately," the minister said.
