UIA, Belavia airlines agree on exploitation of Kyiv-Minsk route

Ukrainian International Airlines (Kyiv) and Belavia (Belarus) have signed a long-term agreement on the joint exploitation of the Kyiv-Minsk air route.

"Thus, passengers will have the possibility of using one of the three daily flights between the capitals of Ukraine and Belarus," UIA said in a press release.

Boeing-737 and Embraer-190 aircraft with business and economy classes are currently used on the Kyiv (Boryspil International Airport) – Minsk (National Airport of Minsk) – Kyiv flights.

"In April 2015, UIA launched its own regular daily flights to Minsk. One month later the airlines united their capacities allowing passengers to have freedom of travelling and to choose the optimal combination of flights, using two daily flights serviced by Belavia and one flight serviced by UIA," the airline said, citing UIA Corporate Press Secretary Yevhenia Satska.

As reported, on April 14 UIA started servicing its own direct regular flights on the Kyiv-Minsk route.

UIA was founded in 1992. It is the largest Ukrainian airline. Its hub airport is Boryspil (Kyiv). The UIA fleet consists of 31 aircraft, including 27 medium-haul and four long-haul airplanes.
