Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed the ways to promote economic contacts between the two countries on Thursday.

"The prime minister discussed with the Turkmen representative the ways to step up Ukrainian-Turkmen economic contacts and to extend Ukrainian companies' activities in Turkmenistan. The construction, energy, agriculture and rail infrastructure sectors are viewed as the most promising areas," the Ukrainian government's press service has reported.

Yatseniuk confirmed the readiness of the Ukrainian government to hold a meeting of the joint Ukrainian-Turkmen commission on trade, economic, research, technical and cultural cooperation in May. In addition, the officials agreed that government delegations will exchange visits to discuss joint economic and energy projects.
