Ukraine to send UAH 1.6 bln of budget funds to prepare for liquidation of coalmines in 2015

A total of UAH 1.554 billion will be sent from the national budget in 2015 to prepare for the liquidation of coalmines and pumping water from the mines.

The indicators are stipulated in supplement No. 3 to the national budget for 2015 posted on the parliament's website.

UAH 1.2 billion will be sent via the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, another UAH 353.4 million as subvention to local budgets (to fulfill works on the conditions of 50% co-financing).

Some UAH 238.384 million will be provided for mining rescue works at coalmines, and UAH 335.803 million – for fulfillment of debt liabilities on state secured credits in the energy sector.

Measures to protect nuclear plants and nuclear materials will cost some UAH 25.114 million.

According to the document, UAH 37.322 million will be allocated for general management of the energy sector to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry this year, UAH 8.9 million for the introduction of the energy industry reformation and development and UAH 10.657 million for research and training.

Ukraine's payment to the Energy Community in 2015 will total UAH 2.951 million.
