Ukrainian, foreign experts developing National Strategy for Human Rights Protection – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has addressed to the compatriots on occasion of the Human Rights Day informing that Ukrainian specialists and foreign experts are preparing a text for National Human Rights Strategy.

"On October 15, 2014 I signed a decree to elaborate a national strategy for human rights." Now the government structures involving Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for human rights, representatives of the public community, in particular, NGOs, and international experts are preparing the text," reads a president's message on the occasion of the Day of Human Rights, the president's press service reported.

He said that nowadays the problem of human rights is of top priority in the times when a war against Ukraine is waged.

"Compatriots, whose rights are roughly and cynically violated are in the epicenter of attention. First of all, these are people, who suffer from the terrorists on the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and those who are oppressed in the occupied Crimea. The victims of tyranny are Nadia Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko and many other Ukrainians imprisoned in Russia. We'll struggle for their liberation till final victory," the president stressed.
