Ukrtelecom closing Sevastopol office

The supervisory board of Ukrtelecom has decided to close the company's office in Sevastopol, Ukrtelecom said in a statement.

The statement, which was released in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market of Ukraine, says that the Sevastopol office specialized in telecommunications services, including local, long distance, international and mobile communications, computer communications, digital television services, services on multi-service networks and other related telecommunications services.

The office also built and serviced television and radio broadcasting networks, satellite communications, transport and telecommunications networks, television networks, digital telecommunication networks with mobile facilities and telecommunications network channels.

As reported, on September 24, 2014 Ukrtelecom stopped providing intercity and international telephone services, internet access and data transmission for all clients, including corporate clients.

It was also reported that MTS Ukraine mobile operator planned to begin providing services to clients in Crimea starting October 1 only on 3Mob's roaming network. 3Mob said it was impossible to provide mobile services in Sevastopol, however, due to the fact that Ukrtelecom's Sevastopol office was forced to cease operations.
