The draft law on Ukraine's state budget for 2014 should be considered and adopted by the Verkhovna Rada within one day, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"We need to constructively consider the budget in accordance with a parliament resolution for which, by the way, representatives of the opposition voted as well, and now they are refusing to implement it. It [the draft state budget] should be adopted within one day. So I very much hope that MPs will make the decision with utmost responsibility," he said, while opening a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Azarov demanded that all government members make every effort to work with the relevant parliamentary committees and MPs, substantiating the balances laid in the budget.

"There are more than 3,000 amendments [to the draft state budget], which would cost as many as three budgets in total. It's necessary to convince MPs that only a realistic budget will help the country develop stably," he said.
