IMF changes chief of its visiting mission in Ukraine

Nikolay Gueorguiev has been appointed head of the International Monetary Fund's visiting mission to Ukraine, IMF office in Kyiv reported on Tuesday.

According to the fund's press release, Gueorguiev will replace Christopher Jarvis at this post.

"From June 4, Mr. Gueorguiev will replace Mr. Jarvis at the post of IMF mission's chief for Ukraine, and at the end of June he will pay a short familiarization visit to Kyiv," reads a press release.

According to the IMF, Gueorguiev is a citizen of Bulgaria.

"Mr. Gueorguiev has a great experience in working in countries with developing market economies. Recently he held the post of chief of the IMF's mission in Moldova and Croatia," reads the press release.

As reported, on May 1 the IMF appointed Jerome Vacher as the representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Ukraine. He replaced Max Alier.

On March 27, the IMF mission arrived in Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian authorities on a new Stand-By Arrangement. The IMF mission worked in Ukraine from March 27 until April 10.
