The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has projected that gross agricultural production in 2013 will grow by 8% compared to 2012.

"This year we forecast that gross production in the agrarian sector will grow by 8%. This will give us a chance to realize export potential and this will allow an inflow of foreign currency and financing of farmers. Of course, this will make a certain contribution in the development of the country's economy," Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said at a briefing on Wednesday.

He also said that this year exports have reached $18.2 billion. He said that this year at least $21 billion worth of exports are planned.
