Ukrgazvydobuvannia launches new well with flow rate of 274,000 cubic meters per day
JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV), which is part of the Naftogaz group, has commissioned a new high-performance well with a flow rate of 274,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
As reported on the group's website on Tuesday, the well peculiarity is that the planned bottomhole is located directly under a populated area.
"The commissioning of the new well increased daily gas production at the field by 17%. Another well is next in line, which will be commissioned in August of this year," the head of the Naftogaz group, Oleksiy Chernyshov, said.
The idea of drilling the well belongs to employee of the Ukrainian Research Institute for Natural Gases Andriy Tyro, who assessed the production capabilities of the field and found a remote site for its laying. The development team carried out a detailed geological and technical justification and recommended the well for drilling.
"It was possible to drill a well under the settlement thanks to modern drilling equipment, advanced technologies and the skill of Ukrburgaz specialists, who solved a rather complex task and drilled a well with a bottomhole depth of more than 1,300 m in four months," head of Ukrgazvydobuvannia Serhiy Lahno said.
At the same time, Ukrgazpromgeofizyka specialists performed complex logging work in conditions of a large wellbore angle and determined the depth of gas-bearing formations.
In total, in the first half of 2024, UGV drilled 50 wells, of which 41 were put into operation.
