Japan recently decided to contribute about $37 million to a NATO trust fund to provide drone detection systems in Ukraine, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa said.

At a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv, Kamikawa said Japan is actively promoting support for Ukraine. As part of its support, Japan recently decided to contribute about $37 million to the NATO Trust Fund to provide detection systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, she said.

In addition, the minister said Japan donated five mobile gas turbine generators and seven transformers to help Ukrainians survive the winter.

"Today I will take part in the ceremony of handing over these pieces of equipment," Kamikawa said
