Ukraine in talks with Poland on opening four new border crossing points
Ukraine is negotiating the opening of four new checkpoints on the border with Poland, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Serhiy Derkach said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency.
According to him, it is about opening the Adamchuky-Zberezhe checkpoint in Volyn region, the Mlynysche-Ślipcze, Variazh-Usmierz, and Belz-Budynin checkpoints.
Also, the opening of the Nyzhankovychi-Malchowice border crossing point is expected, which operates with temporary infrastructure exclusively for empty freight vehicles.
"This should be a joint checkpoint on the Polish side. We were promised to complete the work by the end of this year. The official opening and launch for transport with cargo at this checkpoint was planned from the second quarter," the deputy minister said.
In addition, according to Derkach, Ukraine is raising with Romania the issue of permission for the passage of freight transport through the Krasnoilsk-Vikovu de Sus checkpoint where only empty trucks can now pass.
