Two Ukrainian women killed in Israel

Two citizens of Ukraine were killed in Israel, measures are being taken to organize the repatriation of the bodies of the dead, information about the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the wounded or missing is not yet available, the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian embassy has received confirmation from the Israeli police regarding the death of two Ukrainian citizens. Measures are being taken to organize the repatriation of the bodies of the dead. There is no information yet about the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the wounded or missing," the embassy said in a statement.

Reportedly, the Ukrainian embassy continues to coordinate with the police, the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Institute of Forensic Medicine.

"Starting from October 7, the Ukrainian Embassy received more than 100 requests from Ukrainians. Assistance was provided to three families in finding housing, one family in leaving Ashkelon, the location of five Ukrainian citizens in the south of Israel was established. Ben Gurion Airport continues to operate as usual," the embassy said.

In turn, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko told Interfax-Ukraine that information about the death of two Ukrainian women in Israel has been confirmed.

"Both citizens have lived in the country for a long time. Consuls provide the necessary consular assistance and maintain contact with relatives," Nikolenko said.

As noted in the statement, the IDF forces are currently continuing stabilization measures in the territories of the liberated cities. According to reports, the death toll as a result of the combined HAMAS attacks is almost 300 people, about 1,900 people were injured, and over 700 people are still missing.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel also informs about the situation in the Gaza Strip. "According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of deaths as a result of Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip has increased to 313 people since the morning of October 7, 2023, and more than 1,990 were injured. As of 15.00, Ukrainian citizens in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were not injured. As noted in the statement, constant contact is maintained with activists of the Ukrainian community in the Gaza Strip.
