Ukraine evacuated 856 children to safe regions since April under the compulsory evacuation program, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine has said.

"It is about compulsory evacuation of children, together with their parents, persons who replace them or other legal representatives. Such evacuation was announced in some settlements of Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia regions due to the security situation," the ministry's press service said.

In particular, 524 children with adults accompanying them were evacuated from 34 settlements of Donetsk region to safe regions within the framework of three compulsory evacuation campaigns.

Also, two compulsory evacuation campaigns were held in Kharkiv region this year. In Particular, in April-May, 79 children were evacuated from 17 settlements of Kupyansk district. In July-August, 194 children were evacuated from Vovchansk and nine villages of Vovchansk community, Kharkiv region.

In August-September, 59 children were evacuated from Stepnohirsk, Vasylivsky district, and four settlements of Polohivsky district, Zaporizhia region.
