CIA Director meets with President of Ukraine in Kyiv last week

CIA Director William Burns secretly visited Kyiv at the end of last week, the Washington Post reports, citing informed sources.

The ezine sayd that CIA Director William Burns secretly visited the capital of Ukraine at the end of last week to brief President Volodymyr Zelensky on his expectations on Russia's upcoming military plans in the coming weeks and months.

“Director Burns traveled to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian intelligence counterparts as well as President Zelensky and reinforced our continued support for Ukraine,” the U.S. official told the Washington Post.

It is noted that the main question for Zelensky and his senior intelligence officials during the meeting was how long Ukraine can expect help from the United States and the West after the House of Representatives came under Republican control.

According to the interlocutors of the ezine, Burns admitted that at some point it will be more difficult to get help to Ukraine.

However, the sources of the publication said, Zelensky and his aides left the meeting with the impression that the support of Kyiv by the administration of President Joe Biden remains strong, and the funding of $45 billion for Ukraine, adopted by Congress in December, will last at least until July or August.

The interlocutors clarified that Kyiv is less confident in the prospects of Congress adopting another multibillion-dollar package of additional assistance than it was last spring.
