On Tuesday, the Swedish authorities submitted an application for the country's entry into NATO, the Swedish mission to the alliance has said.

"This morning, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde signed an application for the country's accession to NATO," the mission's Twitter page says.
