Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has discussed with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte the deteriorating situation in Donbas in connection with the Russian military offensive and thanked him for his strong support of Ukraine.

"Continued dialogue with Dutch PM Mark Rutte. Informed about the aggravation of the situation in Donbas. Ukrainians are doing everything to stop the aggressor. Grateful for supporting Ukraine. When peace is restored we'll build Ukraine-Netherlands relations of a new quality together in the EU! " Zelensky said on Twitter.

During their previous conversation, which took place on 11 April, Zelensky and Rutte discussed defense support for Ukraine and tougher sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said that her country had already sent weapons, equipment and humanitarian aid worth over EUR 50 million to Ukraine.
