Denisova checks possible illegal collection of personal data for refugees' evacuation allegedly under auspices of ICRC

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova is checking the facts of possible illegal collection of personal data for the evacuation of refugees allegedly under the auspices of the International Red Cross.

"I am checking the facts of possible illegal collection of personal data for the evacuation of refugees, allegedly under the auspices of the International Red Cross," Denisova said on Facebook.

According to her, while monitoring compliance with the legislation on the protection of personal data on the Internet, on the Facebook page of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine, an informational message of the Committee was found that unidentified persons on the Internet can collect personal data illegally through the so-called forms for evacuation of refugees from the war zone allegedly "under the auspices of the International Red Cross."

"The International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine said they do not register people for evacuation and do not collect personal data through online forms. In this regard, I turned to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine to clarify all the circumstances of the case," she said.

Based on the analysis of the information received, the ombudsman will take additional response measures.
