Airstrike on Mariupol Drama Theater with word Children written in Russian is act of genocide – Denisova
The dropping of a super-powerful air bomb on the building of the Mariupol Drama Theater, where civilians were hiding with written word in Russian "Children" in large letters, is an act of genocide, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada Liudmyla Denisova has said.
"The air strike on this building, which was marked on all sides with the word "Children" [in Russian] is an act of genocide and a terrible crime against humanity, defined by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The punishment for the Russian troops and the leadership of the terrorist state will be inevitable and cruel," Denisova said in a statement on her Telegram channel.
According to her, work is currently underway to remove the rubble, but there is no information about the dead or injured yet.
As reported, on March 16, Russian invaders dropped a super-powerful air bomb on the building of the Drama Theater in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, where residents of the city were hiding from shelling.
