Some 94,000 Ukrainians leave country on March 10 – Border Guard Service

On March 10, almost 94,000 people left Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said.

"Almost 94,000 people left Ukraine in the past 24 hours. Most of those who left - about 67,000 people - crossed the border on the Ukrainian-Polish section. Now, in this direction, the accumulation of pedestrians, cars and passenger buses is minimal," the State Border Guard Service said on Facebook on Friday.

Almost 111,000 people and more than 15,000 vehicles crossed the state border of Ukraine in the western section during the day on March 10. According to the State Border Guard Service, these figures indicate that passenger traffic has slightly decreased compared to the previous day.

"More than 17,000 persons arrived in Ukraine over the past 24 hours, almost 14,000 of whom are Ukrainian citizens. Most of them are men who plan to protect the future of their country. We are proud of our countrymen! By the way, over the past 15 days, about 205,000 Ukrainians have returned home!" the Service said, adding that almost all checkpoints on the western border operate around the clock.

"Over the past 24 hours, more than 800 vehicles with humanitarian cargo were registered at the western borders," the Service said.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recommends also choosing checkpoints at the borders with Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and the Republic of Moldova for crossing the border into the EU. Their workload is reported every two hours on the Facebook page of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine-Western Border. Also, all citizens are asked at the border to observe law and order, order and moral standards while crossing the border and not to offer border guards bribes for special favors.
