NBU urges to disconnect Russia, Belarus from trade, info platforms Bloomberg and Refinitiv
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has called for Russian and Belarusian financial institutions to be disconnected from the world's largest trading and information platforms Bloomberg and Refinitiv (formerly Reuters), the regulator's press service reported on Friday.
"Bloomberg and Refinitiv are key players in providing data and information on the global financial market. Based on this, disconnecting Russian and Belarusian financial institutions from these platforms will significantly limit their access to the international financial market," the press service quoted NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko.
According to him, such a shutdown is a very important step in countering military aggression on the financial front.
On March 3, the management of the National Bank sent the corresponding letters to head of Bloomberg L.P. Peter Grauer and Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe, London Stock Exchange Group Antonio De Gregorio.
