The Ministry of Health plans to implement more than 30 digital projects in 2021, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said during a press briefing in Kyiv.

"Throughout 2020, we have been working on preparing the implementation of these projects. First of all, we want to introduce an electronic patient account, including with integration into the Diia portal. Next, medical reports, primarily e-sick lists. In 2021 we want to get rid of paper sick leave. The first e-prescriptions are introduced for insulin, narcotic drugs and gradually for other prescription medicines," he said.

According to the minister, it is also planned to introduce a treatment plan and a sensitive data module.

"The treatment plan is a module that will allow the doctor to make all the necessary prescriptions and simplify control over the implementation of these issues. The sensitive data module will provide the introduction of electronic medical records on HIV/AIDS and mental disorders," Stepanov said.

In addition, the development of a management system for medicines and medical products is underway.

"We want this to be a unified electronic system that will allow us to control the balances of drugs in medical institutions. There are also plans to integrate the system with other state electronic systems and registries. The issue of data verification functionality and their security is acute," he added.
