Crimean Prosecutor's Office investigates facts of abuse of officials in arrangement of administrative border with Crimea

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is investigating criminal proceedings in connection with the abuse of officials in the arrangement of checkpoints on the administrative border with Crimea.

"This decision was made one year and a half ago [on arranging the administrative border], and there is still something to work on. In this connection, according to the request of public organizations and the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories, we had to launch two criminal proceedings," the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea told the Interfax-Ukraine agency, referring to the words of the Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Gyunduz Mamedov.

One case, as the prosecutor noted, is being investigated pursuant to the fact of the misuse of funds allocated from the reserve fund for arranging administrative border crossing points.

"The case is being investigated pursuant to the fact of abuse of official position by officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the state enterprise Ukrinterautoservise, which committed waste of budget funds allocated for the construction of Kalanchak and Chonhar checkpoints," the prosecutor's office said.

Another case concerns the illegal allocation of land, which should have been equipped with service centers for Crimeans.
