The United States is interested in building up cooperation with Ukraine in the aerospace sector, the plans of the American side include, among other things, investments in the joint creation of aircraft in Ukraine, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly has said.

"There are opportunities for development of cooperation in the aircraft industry," he said at a press conference in Kyiv, assessing the current content and prospects of bilateral Ukrainian-American cooperation in the aerospace sector in a new geopolitical situation.

"I do not want to talk about details, but a large (American) investor is already entering the Ukrainian market to produce aircraft - for joint production," he said.

In this regard, Chaly also welcomed the recent signing of a landmark agreement between State Enterprise Antonov and U.S.-based Aviall, a Boeing division, for the supply of Western components for the family of the next generation Ukrainian regional aircraft An-148/158/178, considered as a breakthrough of the Ukrainian aircraft industry in cooperation with the West in the sphere of import substitution.

"We [Ukraine] still have the opportunity to develop this direction, the Americans have an interest," the official said speaking on the prospects for the development of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the space sphere.
