Poroshenko to make working visit to Austria
On February 8, 2018, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will pay a working visit to Austria at the invitation of Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen.
"During the visit, bilateral talks will be held with Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and newly appointed Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz," the press service of the presidential administration said on Facebook.
The parties will discuss the issues of deepening the political dialogue at the highest level, trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two states, development of the situation in Donbas and strengthening of the EU sanctions policy aimed to support the international efforts to restore the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
A joint visit of the presidents to the Vienna Opera Ball is also planned. The president of Ukraine is invited as a personal honorary guest of the president of Austria. The Vienna Opera Ball is an annual state event in which the country's leadership takes part. The president of Austria has the privilege to invite a head of one of the States to this event as a personal guest.
