A passport of leader of the Movement of New Forces party Mikheil Saakashvili has been found during the search of the apartment of his associate, Severion Dangadze, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said.

"Yesterday [on December 4] many materials needed for the investigation, including Saakashvili's ill-fated Ukrainian passport, were found during the search of the apartment where Dangadze lived in Kyiv. According to Saakashvili, [his passport] was with the president of Ukraine, or with the interior minister of Ukraine. All this time it was in Dangadze's apartment," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, December 5.

According to Lutsenko, Saakashvili's bank cards and other material evidence were also found, and they will be studied by investigators.

As reported, Saakashvili said that Ukrainian law enforcers had taken away his passport during a search of the bus on which he was traveling through the Ukrainian-Polish border. According to him, representatives of special services searched the bus, after which the passport disappeared, and suggested that the media "themselves draw conclusions from this."
