Surplus of Ukraine's state budget comes to UAH 29 bln in H1, 2017

The surplus of the national budget of Ukraine in the first half of 2017 amounted to UAH 29.04 billion, although a deficit of UAH 1.7 billion was registered in the general fund, the State Treasury Service has reported.

According to its data, the main reason for that was the increase in budget funds on the special fund account due to the receipt in late April of UAH 28.6 billion from special confiscation.

Such figures radically differ from the performance of the national budget for 2016, which in the first half of the year had a deficit of UAH 35.1 billion, including UAH 33.66 billion in the general fund.

The State Treasury said in June this year the national budget had a surplus of UAH 2.57 billion, in particular UAH 4.91 billion in the general fund, while the special fund had a deficit of UAH 2.34 billion.

According to promulgated data, borrowings in the first half of this year amounted to UAH 62.33 billion in the general fund with the plan for this period being UAH 136.88 billion, while repayments UAH 38.46 billion with a plan of UAH 48.49 billion.

The special fund in January-June received UAH 2.4 billion of loans with the plan for this period standing at UAH 16.1 billion.

Privatization in the first half of the year brought UAH 110 million while UAH 6.37 billion was expected.
