Yanukovych has not received notice of suspicion from PGO on treason charges

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has not received from Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) a notice of suspicion of state treason or any new notices on creating criminal organizations, Yanukovych's lawyer Vitaliy Serdiuk has said.
"The documents, which on October 5 the PGO mentioned during a meeting, have not been received by the defense [team] or by our client," Serdiuk said.
The lawyer said the PGO is probably referring to year-old information, because the last notice Yanukovych received was dated November 17, 2015.
"That was a notice regarding the so-called "Maidan case," which first appeared in March 2014 pursuant to Article 255," he said.
Serdiuk said two separate cases emerged (from the "Maidan case"), one of which is not being investigated. He added that Yanukovych's defense team has been trying for more than a year to appeal the closure of the investigation and to oblige the PGO to send the case to court. The second case involves former employees of the Berkut (riot police), which is being heard in Kyiv's Sviatoshynsky district court.
