People's Front faction head Maxim Burbak has submitted the resignation statement of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk to Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Groysman.

"Arseniy Yatseniuk has made a state decision, so I am submitting the relevant statement to you, Volodymyr Borysovych [Groysman]," Burbak said at a meeting of the conciliatory council of the heads of parliament factions, committees and groups on Monday.

In the 10 minutes with prime minister programme broadcast by Ukrainian television stations on April 10, Yatseniuk said he had decided to resign.

Yatseniuk said that his statement of resignation would be tabled in parliament on Tuesday, April 12.

Groysman is currently the main candidate to replace Yatseniuk as prime minister.
