Ukraine to step up security in crowded places, on border in connection with Paris terrorist attacks – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Saturday morning held a meeting with security officials and gave instructions to tighten security measures across the country in connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris.

"This morning I held a meeting with the participation of security ministers, leadership of the National Police, leadership of the SBU, intelligence service. They were instructed to take the most decisive measures to ensure peace, stability, quite and security in Ukraine, at airports, to step up security in city centers, the introduction of a special security mode at the border," Poroshenko said when commemorating the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris outside the French Embassy in Kyiv.

The president stressed that the Ukrainian government will act decisively, effectively and responsibly to protect the peace and quite for the Ukrainian people.

"We are not afraid, we will not let ourselves and the entire civilized world be intimidated. Today, all of Ukraine stands together with France," the president said expressing his condolences to Ambassador of France to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont.
