Cabinet to hold talks with president, coalition, IMF, creditors on balanced 2016 budget, tax reform - Yatseniuk

The Ukrainian government will advocate for the adoption of a balanced national budget for 2016 and corresponding tax reform, and will hold talks on the subject with the president, parliamentary factions, the IMF, and other international lenders and partners, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said

"We need to adopt a balanced budget. We stand for cost reduction. This should be the joint political responsibility of both the government and the parliamentary coalition," he said while opening a cabinet meeting in Kyiv.

He said he won't agree to any reduction of social standards.

"The exceptional result of adopting a balanced budget should the tax reform," he said.

According to him, tax reform should be consistent with the principles of involving businesses in the process of economic growth in the country, simplifying tax administration and creating economic stimuli, in compliance with the country's obligations to the IMF.
