Court authorizes two-month detention of MP Mosiychuk accused of bribe-taking

Radical Party parliamentarian Ihor Mosiychuk, who is charged with bribe-taking, has been remanded in custody for 60 days, Kyiv's Pechersky District Court has ruled.

The ruling was announced by a judge after long deliberation in the adjacent room, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported on Friday evening.

The prosecutor had requested a two-month detention for Mosiychuk because he could abscond, harass witnesses and poses public danger.

Meanwhile, Mosiychuk's defense had asked for a release on bail or any other alternative to incarceration.
