State emergencies service's ex-head Bochkovsky released on bail

Former head of the State Emergency Situations Service Serhiy Bochkovsky has been released from Kyiv's Lukyanivka detention center, TSN news channel (Channel 1+1) has reported with reference to the lawyer.

"He was released on bail worth almost UAH 1.2 million. The origin of these assets had been verified by the State Financial Monitoring Service for almost the whole day. It had been looking for a trace of a crime, but it appears that it found nothing," the report said.

According to the lawyer, after the release, Bochkovsky directly went to hospital, as he was suffering a diabetes relapse and increased blood pressure.

As was reported, Bochkovsky's former deputy Vasyl Stoyetsky, who was arrested along with Bochkovsky, was released from a detention center earlier. Bail worth UAH 1.182 million was put up for him on Tuesday.

It was reported earlier that police had detained Bochkovsky and Stoyetsky at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on March 25 on suspicion of abuse of office and involvement in corruption schemes in the State Emergency Situations Service. Immediately after this, the government fired the two officials.

Kyiv's Pechersky District Court on March 28 granted the investigation's request on taking Stoyetsky into custody before trial for two months, setting a UAH 1.182 million bail for him. Bochkovsky faced two months' pre-trial arrest with the possibility of being released a UAH 1.184 million bail.
