Poroshenko: Never before Ukraine's PACE delegation demonstrated such unity as now

Ukrainian President has met with the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and congratulated the parliamentarians on the important parliamentary and diplomatic victory in favor of Ukraine.

The head of state thanked the members of the delegation for their efficient work at the PACE session in January, the president's press service reported.

"You've demonstrated unity and coordinated work. Each of you has made an important step in the protection of state interests. Never before has the Ukrainian delegation demonstrated such a unity. When we are together, we always succeed," the president stressed.

He noted that despite different opinions inside the country, "the Ukrainian delegation was a united team abroad".

In the course of the meeting, the parties have exchanged their views on the further work and close coordination between the people's deputies of Ukraine representing the country in the PACE.

Poroshenko also noted the importance of interaction between Ukrainian parliamentarians and diplomats in the protection of national interests and provision of full objective information about the developments in the East of Ukraine within the international information space.

Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, people's deputy of Ukraine Volodymyr Aryev thanked the president and the foreign minister for their daily support of delegation in the course of the PACE winter session. "I am proud to work in such a team of associates. Despite huge pressure from the country-aggressor, which made every effort to disrupt the adoption of the resolution on Ukraine, we managed to achieve an extremely important and positive result for our country," he said.

The members of the delegation have informed the President on further steps aimed at the establishment of interparliamentary interaction with member-states of the Council of Europe, cooperation within the PACE Monitoring Committee, preparation to the April's session and monitoring of the implementation of PACE's decisions on Ukraine.

The meeting has also been attended by Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly.
