Ukraine's PGO summons ex-officials for questioning - assistant prosecutor general

MP Serhiy Liovochkin of the Opposition Bloc, who headed the presidential administration of Ukraine under Viktor Yanukovych, has been questioned about the crackdown on a peaceful rally in Kyiv on November 30, 2013, which started the Maidan events, Ukraine's Senior Assistant Prosecutor General for Special Commissions Valeriy Karpuntsov has said.

"On 26.12.2014, the Central Investigation Department questioned S.V. Liovochkin about his involvement into the crackdown on peaceful protesters on 30.11.2013," Karpuntsov said in a statement published on his Facebook account on Friday.

In addition, according to the senior assistant prosecutor general, lawmakers Nestor Shufrych, Yuriy Miroshnychenko, Serhiy Kivalov, Hanna Herman, as well as ex-MP Volodymyr Makeyenko were summoned for December 29 for questioning about the circumstances of the vote for the so-called "dictatorial laws," which were passed at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on January 16, 2013 in violation of the legal procedures.

Former chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Anatoliy Holovin has been also summoned for interrogation.

"The subject of interrogation: the circumstances of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine knowingly passing illegal ruling No. 20-rp/2010 regarding the constitutionality of law of Ukraine on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine No. 2222-IV dated 08.12.2004, which resulted in serious consequences and the seizure of power by V.F. Yanukovych in unconstitutional way," Karpuntsov said and added that the former chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine had been summoned for November 30.

In addition, businessman Victor Pinchuk has been called for questioning for December 30.

"The subject of questioning: his statement about the exertion by Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor [Ihor] Kolomoisky (due to former First Deputy Prosecutor General [Renat] Kuzmin's statement on 1+1 TV Channel) of the pressure on him and former President of Ukraine [Leonid] Kuchma with the aim of making V.M. Pinchuk to withdraw his lawsuits against Kolomoisky's commercial structure," the statement reads.

Former Justice Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych has been also invited for questioning for December 30.

"The subject of interrogation: the circumstances of malpractice by officials of the Justice Ministry of Ukraine, including ministers O.V. Lavrynovych, [Olena] Lukash and deputy minister [Andriy] Sedov, during the spending of funds in the amount of UAH 8.6 million and entering of false information in the official documents on the provision of services," Karpuntsov wrote.

In addition, former Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Kozak has been called in for questioning for December 29 in connection with the alleged theft of large amounts of budget funds.

MP Mykhailo Dobkin will be questioned on December 29 in connection with the allegedly fraudulent schemes of sales of liquefied gas for the needs of Kharkiv region residents by Kharkiv-SPBT Ltd. and Kharkivspetsgaspostach Ltd.

The head of the Opposition Bloc faction, former energy and coal industry minister, as well as first deputy prime minister in Mykola Azarov's government, Yuriy Boiko, has been also summoned for questioning for December 29.

"The subject of questioning: the amendments and the adoption of resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1064 dated 03.10.2011 and the regulations on the organization and conduct of auctions for the sale of oil, gas condensate, natural, liquefied gas and coal, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine," Karpuntsov said.

MP Oleksandr Yefremov is also called for questioning for December 29 as part of the criminal proceedings "connected with coal."
