Hroisman, Fule discuss implementation of Association Agreement.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Hroisman and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule have discussed joint measures on the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, which will begin on November 1.
"The main subject of the discussion was the coordination of further actions by Ukraine and the EU on the implementation of the Association Agreement, which will take effect from November 1, 2014, as well as the ways of implementing a respective government action plan," the press office of the deputy prime minister reported.
According to the report, the meeting took place in Brussels on Thursday.
Hroisman informed the EU side about efforts made by the Ukrainian authorities on the introduction of systemic reforms, in particular, about the Reform Strategy 2020 presented by President Petro Poroshenko and the recent adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of a package of anti-corruption laws. He also noted the importance of the implementation of the peace plan for eastern Ukraine, a key element of which is decentralization of power.
As part of the meeting thorough consultations were held with a group of experts of the European Commission responsible for preparations for a donor conference for Ukraine. The sides also discussed the provision financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine from the EU, including assistance to displaced persons and those affected in the east of the country due to preparations for the winter period, as well as the EU's participation in projects to rebuild the infrastructure of Donbas.
